191 St Georges Tce

MD @ Perth

Rupert brought Polar Media from the UK to Australia in 2013. Going from a desk to the studio and collecting the very best clients he could ever want along the way. After treating every one of their projects as if they were his very own ‘work baby’ he’s now got a lot of grey hairs but also a lot to be proud of.

Rupert Roderick

MD @ Perth

Senior 3D & Motion Graphics Artist

Since 2017 Mike's innovative ideas and keen eye for detail have significantly elevated our projects, setting new standards for our work. His ability to blend technical skill with artistic vision is a hit with our clients, who appreciate the dedication to bringing their content to life.

Michael Itliong

Senior 3D & Motion Graphics Artist

Senior 3D Artist @ Perth

The best thing to come out of the covid era for us, Jarrad has been instrumental in pushing the technical proficiency of the animation department forward. Additionally, he excels at taking complex client briefs, understanding them, and offering just the right bespoke visual solutions. The only thing to compete with his advanced 3D skills, is his equally wide range of knowledge in historical trivia.

Jarrad Otten

Senior 3D Artist @ Perth

London Studio

Grange Mills, SW12

Creative Director / Founder (London Office)

Joe founded Polar after freelancing as a director in both broadcast and branded. He now has a creative overview of Polar's output and directs a large proportion of the content. His love of working with people who are both talented and lovely has luckily proven to be a good formula. Joe’s broadcast credits include: five music series for C4, factual docs for Channel Five and Sky One, and several music documentaries including Amy Winehouse: Told You I Was Trouble for Universal.

Joe Kane

Creative Director / Founder (London Office)

Head of Production

As Head of Production, Hannah is the power house of Polar Media. With a wealth of experience she manages to approach every project, no matter how big or small, with pragmatism, care, an eye for the small detail and somehow an eye for the bigger picture as well. Hannah is also queen of the QC (Quality Check), rarely does an important email get sent without her seal of approval. If you spot a mistake... it wasn't sent to Hannah first.

Hannah Cutting

Head of Production

VFX & Animation Technical Director

João co-heads up the CGI, animation and VFX team, bringing unmeasurable depths of ability, knowledge and experience in Maya, Houdini and Nuke. No one can touch him on his IT skills, and no one outside Madeira can pronounce his name properly.

João Nobrega

VFX & Animation Technical Director

VFX & Animation Lead

Kathy originally freelanced for Polar and was begged to stay on as a part of the team. She now co-heads up the CGI, animation and VFX department. Her calm nature, organisation and endless CG talents keep the sanity of the team and the quality of Polar’s CG/VFX output at a maximum.

Kathy Tsola

VFX & Animation Lead

Head of Interactive

Geek among geeks, whether spacecraft or insulation, Joe can't help getting excited. Coming to Polar from the world of science and specialist factual TV, he now helms the Interactive Department, driving forwards and bringing to life experiences that are truly 'next level'. Joe's past credits include: Gold Rush (Discovery), Welcome to Earth (Disney+) and Unearthed (Science Channel).

Joe Gess

Head of Interactive

Producer

Rosanna brings a history of TV broadcast experience to the production process, and to our branded output. She has the rare ability to remain calm, creative and happy whilst juggling people, processes, budgets and schedules with her limitless capabilities. Rosie’s TV credits include: Escape to the Chateau (Channel 4), Battlechefs (UKTV), and Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast (Channel 4).

Rosanna Lovegrove

Office Manager & HR

Tasha is the glue that holds Polar together. She juggles more plates than is humanly possible and does it all with relentless attention to detail. She is responsible for more sanity and solutions than anyone, and supports what everyone does, allowing us to function every day. Too many questions are answered with the sentence, “Tasha will know.”

Natasha El-Tameni

Office Manager & HR

Editor & Colorist

Alex manages to balance the arts of both editing and grading to perfection, and has the rare ability to be master of both. Locked away for hours in his edit suite, his craft has touched nearly everything that we deliver. He lives off a diet of hard drives, LTO tapes and Guinness.

Alex Boorman

Editor & Colorist

Technical Director

Piet can do things with animation software that should require him to be licensed by some authority on dark arts. He also animates and rigs models like a ninja. No one has actually ever seen him after dark, though. He’s also an actual ninja.

Pieter Vandenhouwe

Technical Director

Interactive Developer

As well leading development for the interactive department, Gideon is an immersive experience fanatic, having seen every show there is. He puts all his experience to use in his work. For the tallest person in the office, Gideon has a heart that's just as big. With the care and attention he brings to projects and colleagues, it's easy to forget all the other strings to his bow.... like a Phd in Physics.

Gideon Raeburn

Interactive Developer

CG Artist

Auré is a demon modeller. Although, as you can probably tell from his picture, he’s often confused with being a demon model (he does get quite diva-like when Belgium plays football). There’s not much he doesn’t know about modelling and texturing things to make them look either alarmingly real or perfectly illustrative. Whether it’s for animation, VFX or VR, it always looks beautiful.

Aurélien Oger

CG Artist
